A little more about Marlow

“Not your everyday salsero, Marlow Rosado is a producer, composer, and pianist who incorporates elements of rock, hip-hop, reggaeton, and bachata into his salsa recordings and performances. The Puerto Rico native moved to Florida in order to study music. After receiving a master’s degree in jazz education, Rosado began to share his love of music with elementary-school children as a teacher while moonlighting conducting orchestras, producing recordings, and writing arrangements. A gig singing for Desmond Child – Songwriting Hall of Fame inductee and frequent associate of Aerosmith and Bon Jovi – led to work with Ricky Martin and Alejandra Guzmán, and in 2004Rosado’s childhood dreams came true when he worked on the veteran group El Gran Combo de Puerto Rico’s album Aquí Estamos y…¡de Verdad! In 2006 Yolandita Monge recorded the Marlow composition “Sentimiento Boriqueño” for her 30th album, Demasiado Fuerte, and in 2009 he launched his solo recording career with the album Salsalsa, which was released by the label that he had grown up with, Fania. Work for Charlie Cruz, India, Héctor Acosta, and, once again, Ricky Martin took him to the year 2012 and his second solo album, Retro. Caiala World Music Presents – For the first time in Miami since 2006, multi Grammy Award Nominee, KINKY, live in concert at South Florida’s legendary Latin nightclub La Covacha on Saturday April 6, 2013.This ever-hot electric five-member band from Monterrey, Mexico formed in 1998 consists of Gilberto Cerezo, Ulises Lozano, Carlos Chairez, Omar Góngora, and Cesar Pliego. Their music, heavily influenced by various Latin rhythms, rock, dance, and techno, is undoubtedly some of the best electronica/alternative rock music to ever emerge from south of the border.

This concert comes to Miami following their latest and very successful album release Sueño De La Maquina which received the nomination for Best Alternative Music Album along with Best Alternative Song (Negro Día) at the 2012 Latin Grammy Awards. . The group has received multiple award nominations since it’s inception including 9 Latin MTV Video Music Awards, 5 in 2002 and 4 more in 2007, and a total of 3 from the Latin Grammy Recording Academy.
